Elevator Pitch No. 1

The name of my business plan is a non-profit program called The Teacher Relief Program. This program sets out to make teachers feel appreciated and like they are actually making a difference in someones life. Much of what teachers go through is becoming discouraged by the school system by getting pay cuts or even by family members who disagree with how the classroom is ran on a day to day basis. What many do not realize is what these teachers do behind the scenes for their students. I personally have felt this from some of the teachers I have had over the years and for the ones who have not been that way I think they just need a push in the right direction and to feel appreciated.

  1. Hey Courtney!
I love your business idea so much. I think that teacher appreciation is something that is very undervalued in our school system, especially in Florida. As far as your elevator pitch goes I think you did really good at getting in a lot of information in a short amount of time. One thing I think you could work on is confidence. Make it sound like your idea is the best idea that this person has ever heard. Be assertive!
    Overall great work though!!

  2. Courtney, I really enjoyed your elevator pitch for The Teacher Relief Program. I have a lot of family members that work in schools (from teachers to deputy superintendents), and you have certainly identified a huge need in our school system. You were able to keep my attention with the content, but if you speak with more energy and inflection in your voice I would be much more excited to invest/donate to your cause. One activity that can help with this is rehearsing your speech so you can speak with more confidence about the topic. Overall great job and I look forward to seeing your business plan develop!

  3. Hello Courtney!
I feel that you have a great idea. I can connect to this pitch very well because my mother is a preschool teacher and I always get to hear the horror stories of how the other teachers just do not care, and how they are treated horribly by the students parents and anything else you could think of. One thing that I feel would be great is a way to increase their pay. Though teaching is mainly for the giving of your knowledge to students, it is also a job. However, now that I do think about it, maybe if the way things were taught changed to more real world rather than reading nonsense and remembering words for tests these teachers would feel more connected to their students. I definitely agree with you when you want to bring out the bright spots of the teachers because they definitely do not get enough credit. I know my mother would appreciate your idea. Great post!
